Ugly politics in Virginia’s congressional race--Dem Congressman dismisses veterans as unqualified
washington times ^ | Tuesday, October 30, 2012 | By Chris Perkins

Incumbent Congressman Gerry Connolly shocked many constituents by suggesting that career military veterans, like myself, are unqualified to serve in Congress – implying that their service to the nation does not amount to sufficient “sweat equity” in the district they seek to serve in Congress.

While speaking to a local Chamber of Commerce and touting his own accomplishments during his 16 years in local politics, Mr. Connolly recently asked the audience: “Where has my opponent been?” Many in the room who were aware of my military career, including those wearing lapel stickers listing the Democratic Party ticket, were visibly taken aback and later distanced themselves from Mr. Connolly’s attack. Unrepentant, the congressman subsequently pressed his line of attack when he spoke to a local neighborhood civic association. Once again describing the work he did as a Fairfax County Supervisor in the building of schools and sidewalks for his community, Mr. Connolly again dismissed my more than 24 years of military experience, saying “I expect a candidate to have demonstrated some sweat equity!”

I am happy to answer the congressman’s question. I was in Iraq trying to rescue American fighter pilots who had been shot down. I was hunting down war criminals in Bosnia, and I was evacuating U.S. Embassy personnel in Africa from armed mobs that would do them harm. I was at Arlington National Cemetery 17 times paying my last respects to brave men that I had the privilege and honor to serve with.

I am profoundly disappointed that Congressman Connolly believes career military men and women are unqualified to serve in Congress simply because they chose to serve and protect their country rather than enter local politics. His statements are offensive to our service members and their families who have sacrificed so much for the country they love.

What a repulsive fungus are you, Mister Connolly!

Inexplicably, Democrats hate our Military. This actually DISQUALIFIES THEM to occupy Congress.

Speaking of VA, I saw the VA Senator, Mark Warner on tv the other day, and I swear he looks just like the star of that HBO series, Boardwalk. Nucky is the character’s name, the actor’s real name is Steve Buscemi. He’s really a creepy guy and Warner looks just like him.

Some career military men and women are unqualified because they are democrats..
The fact they are democrats proves they are socialists..
Very probably moles and traitors as well..

The democrat party is a collective.... a HIVE....
Its very easy to know where they stand.. and what they believe..

On the other hand some may be stupid or just morons which also un-qualifys them..

Some career military men and women are indeed, unqualified....

Then lets make a FLUKEN DEAL! You lowlife, bottomfeeding politicians stay the hell out of how the military fights the wars, including that jackass in the Oval Office and we military types will stay out of politics. IOW: Take your “rules of engagement” and shove them up your politcal ***. DEAL?

I had the chance to talk to dumbass connelly once to tell him how stupid he was for voting for the cap and trade bill. He’s a sleazy no good local dirtbag do nothing politician. And that’s exactly how he looks, too. Funny how many of his constituents are career military assigned to the capital region. I just hope they’re hearing this and registered to vote in fairfax county.

Connelly is a mixture of Fascist Thug and Marxist spendthrift. Nasty as an unpaid whore but less honorable.

He is undoubtedly the worst Democrat to come out of Fairfax County, Virginia, in modern history. Would have been a great stormtrooper in Nazi Germany. He even has Hitler’s moustache.

Chris Perkins is more of an honorable man than Connelly could ever hope to be. Unfortunately, the Democratic machine in Northern Virginia is very powerful, organized and wealthy (unlike the much poorer Republicans).

Let’s hope for a miracle so that we can send Connelly to that cesspool for defeated Democrats. He richly deserves to go down the toilet.

Who IS this jackass?

AND

more importantly

even if far away, what kinds of things can we Freepers do to guarantee he will not return to the People's House? Wow, this is just reprehensible.

This what the Democrats and the Media really think of veterans who bled and sacrficed for this nation:

As Washington looks to squeeze savings from once-sacrosanct entitlements like Social Security and Medicare, another big social welfare system is growing as rapidly, but with far less scrutiny: the health and pension benefits of military retirees.

The NY Slimes published this attack on veterans (slandering them as welfare slugs) in September of 2011. There was outrage all over the web and on talk radio. The NY Slimes authors of the pieces, JAMES DAO and MARY WILLIAMS WALSH, were unrepentant.

I lived in Connelly’s district for 34 years and thankfully moved out before his sorry a$$ was elected. The district was solidly republican in 1973 but gradually turned into Massachusetts on the Potomac. It is sad to see so many sell their souls for the easy ride at the taxpayers expense.

He just barely won in 2010. I don’t remember but I think the district was made slightly more Democrat in redistricting, however it is winnable. Moran’s 8th is not.

The one area of Federal activity which is clearly Constitutionally mandated is the National Defence. Building schools and sidewalks is certainly not, so if experience is a criteria for office his opponent is clearly better qualified.

Moran is the worst of the worst. Even Massachusetts exported him to Alexandria.

As far as I’m concerned, anyone who served in the military is qualified for any public office.

PING!
