Too much windage.
He created a boat he didn’t have time to enjoy.
Why is he burning in hell?
The plane I can understand and see the justification for. Jobs is the one who's vision made Apple so profitable. His time can therefore be considered valuable enough to justify not having to deal with commercial air travel. At least Job's plane is smaller than what Obama uses for his pizza runs.
One the uglier boats ever floated. I think it is just a party boat to be used in dock and not taken out for a spin.
Disclosure: I am a fan of the Herreshoff family and their wonderful boats.
The most beautiful boats every built.
Yep..it a butt ugly boat....
When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in Sept 1997, its stock was trading at 5.42. When he died in Oct 2011, its stock price was at 374, peaking at 702 in Sept 2012.
For a CEO who oversaw a 100-fold increase in stock value over a period of five years, I could see him deserving a plane or two. What have YOU done to increase American prosperity over the last five years?
It should have been named: Piece O’ Cheesecake with a Party Hat.
WRONG. AAPL has SPLIT, so ergo, x2 or 3 depending on when u bought (or didn't!)!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that a difference which makes no difference to somebody who owned the stock in 1997 and kept it till today? The value of his stock holdings will have gone up by the amount I said?
Designed by someone who is known for his kitchen utensils...and it shows.
Jeez, that is one ugly yacht.
I’d have kept it hidden, too!
Indeed it is. I'd expect something like that from Microsoft....
I think this is much prettier. Jobs' boat looks like a high-tech garbage scow.
Paul Allen's boat:
You have excellent taste, that boats lines are beautiful. As for your assessment of Jobs monstrosity, it is right on.
Live in Seattle and been on board.
Oh, and Microsoft blows.
If you owned 100 shares of AAPL when Jobs came back, it would have been worth $542 (using your $5.42 figure). When it split first time, you then owned 200 shares. When it split again, you owned 400 shares.
Using today's price ($595.32 at close, down 8.58), those 400 shares are worth $238,128.00! Not a bad ROI!!! You can compute the percentage.
I bought $5k worth in 2001 @ $13.375, BUT, I put it in a Family Trust. My grandkids inherit a really good nest egg and all will get a good edumacation (or a house!). I had no idea I would gain so much (but I did hope for change!)
