A loophole is also a small window in a wall, used to shoot arrows or bullets through. Closing it prevents the enemy from doing the same.

I can show you a loop in a scarf, but I can't see a loop in a parapet.

Of late, I've been acutely aware of language and how we use it ... not trying to get into a pissing match, just pointing out the obvious.

Example;

In the store, the clerk says, "That'll be $29.95" and I ask,

"OK, but what is it now?"

The machine asks; "Is $29.95 OK?", and I counter,

"How would I know?"


etc.
