That's interesting, if true. But, I've also heard that most diplomatic facilities have a variety of visual communications which are triggered under attack. In other words, they weren't only dependent on the drones. Moreover, they had multiple voice calls, both from the ex-SEALS and the Ambassador. When you couple this with whatever drone footage they had, they clearly knew what was going on.
