The Romney campaign is blanketing Spanish-language media in Florida with a new ad connecting President Obama with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, the Castro family in Cuba, and Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara, the Miami Herald reports.

The Herald reports the ad has been in heavy rotation since at least Tuesday, citing anecdotal evidence: "[T]he spot that aired three times in one prime time Spanish-language news program Tuesday and at least four times on the same show Wednesday -- including twice in the same commercial break."

The ad shows Chavez and Mariela Castro, the niece of Fidel Castro, saying they would vote for Obama if they were Americans. The ad then notes that the EPA sent out a Hispanic Heritage month email with a picture of Che Guevara on it. The ad ends with Chavez saying: "If Obama were from Barlovento [a Venezuelan town], he'd vote for Chávez."

Here's the ad, which the Herald recorded with an iPhone after the Romney campaign failed to provide it:

I’ve wondered why Romney hasn’t run ads showing that Castro, Chavez & Putin are all supporting him. That could get mileage everywhere!

“Romney camp” didn’t connect 0 to Chavez and Castro...0 did that all by himself.

The Herald doesn't know where to find Mitt Romney's channel?

Way to go! There are a lot of Venezuelans in Miami, and in fact, a lot of people from many parts of Latin America that have had to flee the relatively recent leftist governments of Ecuador, Bolivia, etc. All of these were fomented through the Chavez-Castro axis.

Obama’s policies connect him to Chavez and Castro plus the fact that those people endorse Obama..

If the president talked in public like he and his advisors talk behind closed doors, without the moderate facade, he would be unelectable except maybe in San Fran and Chicago.

Romney has been perhaps too gracious, he has tried to make the point about the president being too socialist without swinging hard on that issue.

If his advisors happen to read this, tell Romney to make a stronger statement this weekend before it’s too late — the election is really a referendum on free enterprise vs socialism. If people want socialism then they had better be ready to pay the kind of taxes that Europeans pay, and get the kind of results that they get.
