Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz Endorses Barack Obama

Grace Wyler
Nov. 1, 2012, 4:38 PM

Following in the footsteps of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz announced on CNBC Thursday that he is endorsing President Barack Obama for re-election.

Schultz's endorsement is surprising, given his vocal abstinence from politics this election cycle. In August 2011, Schultz called for a halt on campaign donations until both parties found common ground on the country's long-term fiscal issues.

“Shouldn’t Bloomberg be castigating Schultz for the fatty high calorie starbucks lattes anyway? It is nothing but a gathering place these days for the unemployed 16%.”

It’s not about health. Ordinary people drink Coke so it’s bad. Hipsters drink starbucks and it’s OK because they are smarter than us and believe in global warming.

Ordinary people smoke cigarettes so we must kick it out. Hipsters who smoke marijuana obviously know what they are doing so we’re for more marijuana kiosks.

LOL. I swear Starbucks is the worst “coffee house” coffee
I ever tasted. It actually made me nauseous : )

Try Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The owners are conservative, and the coffee is excellent.

Just another reason to avoid Starbucks. Anyway, their coffee tastes burnt to me.

Dittos. I drink my coffee black. Starbucks coffee is over-roasted and burnt. I believe they do it because so many drink it with 4-5 additives, and they need to have a coffee taste come through.

Best to find a local coffee shop that roasts their own beans.

Well, I guess that will help lock up those conservative hipster votes. All 4 of them.

Yes, Starbucks accepts EPT cards for cold drinks and food products.

“The Fox News 12 investigation revealed that food stamp recipients were using the funds to buy things like Frappaccinos and pumpkin bread from a branch of Starbucks in Salem, Oregon. A spokesperson for the Safeway store in Salem where the foot stamps were accepted in Starbucks, told Fox News the store made the change as ‘an added convenience to customers’ and that the register at the store considers the purchase a ‘grocery’ item, and, as long as it’s cold, it can be purchased with food stamps.

Maybe he's doing this in the hopes that those punk anarchists won't smash the windows of the nearest Starbucks the next time there's a G8 summit in town!

LOL!

Further proof that business and politics don’t mix well, for liberal socialists.

I occasionally bought an overpriced coffee drink, as a convenience buy treat a few years ago.
I personally don’t have enough disposable income to waste on that kind of “treat” anymore.

Starbucks, meet Blockbuster Video.

In the real world of consumer retail, niche markets for luxury item purchases often fail “suddenly” when they become to big, in their own minds, to fail.

I love Starbucks coffee (I’m NOT a coffee connoisseur, so don’t bite!), but I am going to boycott them from now on.
