Payrolls rise sharply, giving Obama some relief
Reuters ^ | November 2, 2012 | By Jason Lange

(Reuters) - U.S. employers stepped up hiring in October and the jobless rate ticked higher as more workers restarted job hunts, a hopeful sign for a lackluster economy that has dragged on President Barack Obama's reelection chances.

The employment data was the last major report card on the economy before Tuesday's presidential election, which pits Obama against Republican Mitt Romney.

Romney has made the nation's feeble jobs market, which has plagued Obama since he took office in 2009, the centerpiece of his campaign.

“giving Obama some relief”

I knew IMMEDIATELY it was Reuters.

Especially considering the other headline that lamented that the jobless report would “give Obama no relief”.

Yep, the holiday hiring has begun once again. Happens every year.

Reuters (D) sure knows how to spin. Notice how they bury ‘jobless rate ticks higher’ as if that is a positive. Unreal watching the media and their malpractice.

The average hours worked stayed at 34, and personal wages didn’t budge, that is the more telling figure.

And if things improve dramatically in the first year for Romney, you can bet that they will be touted as lagging employment improvements, lagging COL improvements, lagging energy cost improvements, etc.

All in preparation for Obama 2016.

“U.S. employers stepped up hiring in October and the jobless rate ticked higher as more workers restarted job hunts, a hopeful sign for a lackluster economy that has dragged on President Barack Obama’s reelection chances.”

Un-effin-believable. No shame. Why am I surprised by these hacks?

If a Republican were the incumbent how would they have written the headline?

“U.S. employers continued their sluggish hiring pace in October as a greater percentage were counted as unemployed, a sign that the lackluster economy remains a drag on President GOP’s reelection chances.”

They are propagandists, and Obama boot lickers. When Romney is President, watch the media turn 180 and it will be all negative news.

I just have to chuckle at Rooters’ bias. Whenever the rate has dropped in previous months, they have reported the percentage in the first paragraph. And in those instances they never mentioned that the unemployment rate has dropped because people quit looking for work. Noe, it is important for their readers to know that the rate rose because some people are looking for work again. Pravda!

“Payrolls rise sharply...”

Goody. Excuse me while I run and tell my neighbor. He thinks he’s still unemployed.

The title is wrong, to cut the author some slack..the correct title is “US jobless rate seen rising, offering Obama no relief”

A TRUE report on the number of unemployed would show that the rate never actually dropped below 8% in either September or October, that these are “preliminary” numbers not yet adjusted to the same standards that existed and were applied for the months of August 2012 and some 42 months prior to that.

And even these numbers were bogus and did not reflect the available but not gainfully employed members of the total work force pool.

Whomever is sworn in as President in January shall inherit a truly dreadful situation from the previous four years, MUCH worse than 2008.

The number of new jobs in September was cut in half yesterday. These are preliminary numbers and are always revised downward.
The unemployment rate went up.
