I vividly remember how anger at Katrina (was main point which) cost Anti Bush popularity. Where is the "objective" media in silence on Obama now?

I'm sorry, but what is all this 'superstorm' bullshit? It was a hurricane...a Category 1 hurricane. It wasn't some 'super storm'

It was a hurricane.

This storm hits TX, AL, NO, its a hurricane....it hits NY, NY, CT, its a SUPER STORM!!

Obama doesn’t visit NY. Visiting would divert resources.

Bush didn’t visit N. O. Heartless bast@ard!

Well, you have to remember that New York is the home of the MSM. So, anything that happens there is automatically magnified by the MSM because of where it happens.

Channeling the post-Katrina liberal emotions:

Uhhhbama steered superstorm Sandy into the hardest hit areas! He hates the residents of those areas and wants them to suffer and die and for the survivors to have to scavenge food from dumpsters and wait for hours to get gas at over $6 a gallon!

The media have different criteria for judging these situations, depending upon whether the president is an evil Republican or a good Democrat.

Staten Island residents angered by slow Sandy response

I don’t blame them.
Wonder what the “response time” would have been if Harlem was as hard hit ?

I’ll say the same for this as I said about Katrina.

Things like this are huge and overwhelming. NO government, no fire department, etc. is set up to handle it. Listening to the FDNY scanner it was impressed even more. These guys are probably busy and understaffed on a normal day - but the calls they were getting during the storm was nuts.

100,000 downed power lines in New York alone will take time to repair. 10 feet of beach sand dumped in your neighborhood will take time to remove. This is just the way it is. It all takes time to mobilize, etc. (Of course the stories about non-union workers being turned away should be headlines, and the unions demonized.)

I wish that instead of blaming the government, the media should be stressing the FACT that in times like this - YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN for awhile. Maybe get people to take responsibility for themselves and their families and their neighbors the best they can.

Heh. Just now got this in an email from our city:

...Knowing these skills can make the difference between life or death while in the jaws of disaster. This article helps to summarize many of the frustrations that can often be prevented IF you are prepared properly: www.cnn.com/2012/11/02/us/tropical-weather-sandy/index.html?hpt=hp_t1.

In a large scale event, there are many factors that will dictate where first responders (Police and Fire) are dispatched—with 50,000 residents (double that during the work day) and a few hundred first responders total, they will be dispatched to where the most lives are at stake—

IF they can get there (tree down, bridge down, road collapse means they can’t get to you)…
IF they are alive to come into work (first responders aren’t immune to these disasters, they have homes/families just like you do)….
IF they don’t have to wait for assistance to come from across the state or nation.

Response in a major event can take hours, days, or even weeks. That’s why it’s so important to be prepared rather than relying on others. Seats are limited so register today....Make plans to attend and remove the need for the “IFS” mentioned above.
