Romney supporters throng State Fair Park

Several thousand supporters of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney have already assembled inside the Products Pavilion at State Fair Park Friday morning, with thousands more lined up outside. The pavilion holds some 4,000 people and Romney organizers have lined up overflow space in another building. The Romney rally comes on the heels of polls that show a tight race in Wisconsin. President Barack Obama, who was in Ashwaubenon Thursday, is due to return to Wisconsin Saturday for a rally in Milwaukee and Monday for a rally in Madison. "We want to make sure we lock it in and it's definitely in our column," Obama surrogate Robert Gibbs said on CBS. "With three visits to the state in the final week of the election, it's clear the Obama campaign is worried about his growing Wisconsin problem," said Nicole Tieman, Wisconsin communications director for the Republican National Committee. "Three campaign stops to the state in the final week of the election don't reflect the actions of a confident President Obama." The program at this morning's Romney rally will include speeches by former governor Tommy Thompson, who is running for U.S. Senate, Gov. Scott Walker, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson. Kleefisch and others have whipped up the crowd with chants of "Four More Days," marking the final stretch to Election Day. U.S. Rep. Tom Petri told the crowd, "this coming Tuesday, all across America, worried citizens will go to the polls. And they will ask themselves what can I do to get my country back on track?" "And they will answer, I can vote for leadership for a change, I can vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan," he said.

The building was FULL over two hours before Romney is to arrive. MORE than 4,000 people could not get in and are at an outdoor venue of the State Fairgrounds site.

Obama was in Green Bay yesterday and got less than 2,600 people to show. Probably 10,000 at State Fair Park to see Romney today.

Obama is so desperate in Wisconsin, he was in GB yesterday, will be in Milwaukee tomorrow with Katy Perry, and in Madison on Monday with Bruce Springsteen.

The early voting in the state will be down probably 100,000-150,000 votes from 2008, and a good portion of that is from Democrat places like Milwaukee.

If Obama can't get the minority vote and youth vote, he is sunk in Wisconsin, you can take that to the bank.

Damn the polls, Rasmussen included! This kind of anecdotal evidence, and Romney consistently winning Is by double digits makes it absurd to believe this is “too close to call”.

Listening to Charlie Sykes right now - they are turning away thousands because they just can fit them in. In the meantime, Biden's rally in Beloit is drawing a few hundred. :)

O is struggling in WI.

You won’t hear about it. The MSM will tell you Romney is struggling in FL and OH.

That’s how corrupt and biased the Obama-worshiping pressitutes are.

Thanks for the report, lifts my spirits a little. Although I am sad by the Ras poll today it feels like Obama has the momentum now because of Sandy, but I really hope I’m wrong on that.

Ignore the polls.

Romney has huge, electrified crowds. O can barely drum up a couple of thousand supporters.

The trend is our friend. I want JimRob to ban publication of polls for 48 up to the election.

We can just follow the crowds, so to speak!

In the meantime, Obama is in Columbus, Ohio. His crowd is estimated to be 2,500 - here's a picture link:

Who has the momentum, again?

Remember also that Wisconsin just confirmed a REPUBLICAN governor with a larger margin than in his first election. They did this despite the national unions throwing everything they had at the fight.

I think the people of Wisconsin are sick and tired of being thrown under the bus by the democrats. By and large they are hardworking people who just want to be left alone. Every time they’ve supported a democrat they’ve seen their taxes go up, their benefits from government go down (Not just direct benefits but things like quality of services, school performance, roads etc) and welfare slackers get more and more of their money.

Wisconsin is returning to republicanism.

(Please note that I do not live there, but I was raised there and have family and friends there and visit a bit. On my last visit (Sept) I saw probably 15 Romney signs for every obama sign.)

According to Twitchy, the Romney camp is also teasing that a surprise endorsement is going to be announced in WI today.

If Jim Rob were to ban publication of polls for 48 hours up to the election, we would be forced to look at what the campaigns are doing.

Obama isn’t getting many people out. If the race was really tied as the polls say, his supporters would be as motivated and enthusiastic as Romney and as well or better attended.

They aren’t - which tells me the polls are way off! Or am I missing something here?

Don’t despair, MSM and polls. The undercurrent is still intact for Romney, and by Monday, when there is still no gas in NJ, still people dumpster diving in NYC, and the ‘little people’ of Staten Island still homeless and hopeless, the anger will start to turn against Obama for abandoning them in their time of need.

Today for the rally in West Allis, the hall hold 4,000+ people. 14,000 people RSVP’d for a MORNING rally. That is unprecedented.

Reports are that a ton of young 17-25 people are at the rally. The 17 years olds can’t vote, but a new generation of fiscally conservative young voters is out there.

Bart Starr, one of the most famous Packers of all time, and one of the most gracious men I have ever met, has now taken the stage!

Lol sounds like a great policy.

Romney does have the crowds and mo. Would I be feeling better about this election if I ignored Intrade, oversampled Dem polls, and that friggin idiot Nate Silver? Yeah, I probably would. If Romney wins I'm spiking the football in the endzone FReind. Spiking it down like Randy Moss at Lambeau Field.
