I know quite a few liberaltarians who would take serious issue with your comment.

They want nothing to do with the Republican party.

Many of them would go Green if they couldn’t go L.

Just read the comments section on Zero Hedge, Market Ticker, and Mish.

There is a portion of the Progressives who call themselves libertarian. Their main issues are drugs and sex: no laws at all regarding either. They have major problems w/authority, which is why they don’t admit to having anything in common w/statists.

There is a difference between a Libertarian and a Libertine. Libertines don't want the state to get in the way of their self gratification (sex, drugs, etc.). But they are perfectly happy to have the state confiscate wealth and property. This confiscation is a key tenet of the Green party. Libertarians don't want the state to get in the way of individual liberty. This is why Republican libertarians oppose abortion, on the grounds that the unborn baby is an individual with the same rights as anyone else. And why they reject wild public spending for green energy.

The next time a Democrat tells you they are libertarian, ask them if an unborn baby has a right to liberty.
