As a conservative, I am naturally compassionate. And realistic.
Having never even visited NYC, I must keep referring back to maps to get a grasp of the scale of the flood and wind damage. By all accounts it is huge and widespread.
As a long term Florida resident, I am very aware that hurricane category storms, even a Cat 1, includes numerous tornadoes, and that a storm surge plus high tide is ominous to anyone near a coast. I shudder to think what adding cold temperatures into the mix would be like.
Thousands of people were already on their way to NYC with the distribution experience and physical items they knew would be most needed. Water, food, clothing, blankets, portable generators etc.
Money is worthless if you can't get to a store...
Who is insensitive/insane here?
The marathon should have been called off Tuesday, when the scope of the physical damage was known.
Next week, fine...NYC will bounce back quickly. Just not this quick.
Yep hate those tornadoes had many with Irene nonstop warning.
That was my only fear before Sandy arrived.
wasn’t really concerned about power outage.
Life’s full of disappointments . Not sweating the small stuff is a good policy not easily endured.
Tornadoes are not the “small stuff” .
