I live in Virginia.

No poll calls at all.

I only have a cellphone and it still has a Maryland area code.

Without weighting EVERY poll in 2008 would have shown McCain up 10% - you simply have to weight for the fact that younger people are harder to contact and less likely to respond.

One reason the polls are all over the place is everyone is doing that differently, of course.

But it’s unbelievably naive to demand that no weighting be done.

lots of things change in 4 years ~ the response rates are so low that the results are too fragile to work with ~ plus, small groups can subvert the poll by simply always answering every phone call.

Accept it, the polls are garbage weighted or unweighted, and, after weighting, they aren't even random.

This method of determining public opinion has expired!
