Officers take an oath to defend the constitution and that oath doesn’t disolve with retirement. Any oath he might have taken to run the CIA cannot supercede the original. He has ZERO authority to follow an order he might know to be illegal and abandoning US Gov’t employees would sure get close to being illegal, not to mention extra-constitutional. He MUST explain himself soon because he’s losing me fast.——————————————————————————————————————————————————— Just to underline the point: He took his appointment from a democrat president who he knew was trying to cut his own military and who he knew was crooked as hell. He didn’t have to retire when he did-—could have waited a couple more years. While he seemed to be a competent officer he has a ways to go to prove himself in any other area.
