A strong word of advice for those still in the NYC and New Jersey areas seriously affected by Sandy who had not prepared well in advance and who are unprepared for what you are experiencing and who are unprepared for what is coming:

Weather experts are forecasting a possible Nore-Easter in your area this coming week. If this forecasted weather event is strongly expected to happen, you have been warned! Things and "stuff" can be replaced, your life and the lives of your family and friends cannot. Do whatever you have to in order to get out of the area NOW while you still have the ability to do so! Take the bare essentials you need for the trip, for survival and for personal protection and leave! Go stay with friends and family who are located out of state and out of the area. Don't try and "tough it out", don't try and "hang in there". Use any means at your disposal to get out of the area ASAP because FEMA and the government cannot and will not save you. So do not expect them to because they can't, and in Mayor Bloomberg's case, he won't because he stubbornly refuses to call in the ARMED National Guard to protect you, to keep the peace and to maintain order. Gather your family and friends and get the heck out of where you are before it gets really bad.

Things are dreadfully serious now but if this bad, wet, cold, windy weather takes place on top of what you are already experiencing it will only compound an already dire situation, totally overwhelm the services which are already stretched to the limit and you will be left on your own to survive against the elements, savages and wildlings who are taking over.

FEMA, which runs the federal flood insurance program

Another bankrupt Federal program which causes people to make uneconomic choices and depletes the treasury

FEMA is just like the public school system. They get billions in tax dollars, but fritter it all away on administration, so they never have ANY funds to use for the purpose for which they were created.

You'd think more people would catch on to the 'government scam'.

There must several Hollywood celebrity charity events ready to aired!

Just imagine if those communities had the hundreds of millions funds they each gave to the various film production companies in the form of tax breaks.

A lot of people are paying into the National Flood Insurance Program. I bet when they read this it will sure make them feel all warm and fuzzy.

What a racket and a sham, just like every other big Govt program. Open up that lock box and watch the moths fly out.

Those folks better pray that Romney wins, because there is no way in hell that the country will come together behind Obama.

I give to the Salvation Army, but the Red Cross will NEVER see a dime from me.... and, I will NEVER follow Obama or any other democrat.

Chaka Fattah told Cavuto this morning he is requesting 12 billion for FEMA.

Cavuto has no faith in FEMA.

Fattah said 15 billion is nothing compared to what is being spent in Afghanistan.

Congressman Fattah Introduces $12 Billion “Sandy” Emergency Aid Bill. 11/02/12.

Nothing but a slush fund for Obama and thugs.

Declare bankruptcy and throw out all union contracts. This was a scam artists storm from the get-go. The damage assessments were coming in at 50-60 billion before the storm hit. No effing way unless the taxpayers are going to pay every penny, and that’s still way too high

Look for FEMA to place more mountain tops in flood zones. That's what they did after Katrina. My former mother-in-law lived on a hill, a good mile away from the creek in question and her house was a solid 300 feet above said creek. Stroke of the pen and bang, flood insurance became mandatory on her mortgage. She had to jump through all sorts of hoops to get removed from the “100 year” flood plain map.
