There were good guys in Egypt. Mubarak was our guy, until we pulled a Jimmy Carter and helped the Muslim Brotherhood. Actually, that's not fair to the peanut farmer. In 1979, we were not at war with the spawn of the Shia Islamists. We are at war with Al Qaeda, which started as the Muslim Brotherhood's operation in Afghanistan, and merged with Egyptian Islamic Jihad, one of two military wings of the Brotherhood. The other, Gamaat Islamiya, also has extensive ties with Al Qaeda.
Helping the Muslim Brotherhood is nothing short of TREASON, but it is bipartisan one.
