Ryan Draws Huge Crowd in Minnesota
Big Government ^ | 11/4/12 | Tony Lee

With a new American Future Fund poll showing Mitt Romney with a once unthinkable one-point lead in liberal Minnesota, Paul Ryan on Sunday went to the state President Barack Obama won by more than 10 percentage points and drew a crowd of nearly 6,500 people.

Ryan's campaign appearance there represented how the Romney campaign was aggressively playing offense on Obama's electoral turf to expand the electoral map. Obama has spent the last weeks of the campaign on defense, trying to hold onto states -- like Minnesota and Wisconsin -- he comfortably won in 2008 and were once included in the campaign's baseline of states guaranteed to go into Obama's electoral column,

According to NBC News, it was Ryan's largest solo event to date.

“We could use your help, Minnesota. How about it? What do you say?” Ryan said. “Look at this: Vikings for Romney-Ryan. Even Vikings fans and Packers fans can lie down together for this country.”

Ignore the polls, watch the action and the rhetoric.

Obama/Biden and Romney/Ryan are both playing on mostly BLUE state turf. Romney/Ryan are running the sort of campaign winning camps run, optimistic, hopeful, bland. Obama/Biden is running the sort of campaign losers run, nasty, desperate and shrill.

Obama is running around joined at the hip with Bill Clinton trying desperately to fire up the traditional Democrat blue collar vote. He is shrilly attacking the Tea Party in every speech. Obama is doing nothing to reach towards the middle. Romney is out there acting Presidential and reaching out to moderate and “leans Democrat” voters.

Obama is not acting like a candidate whose internal polling is showing him winning.

Freeper Concern Trolls attacked Romney for sending Ryan to a dry hole.

Looks like he struck oil! Talk about a political gusher in Blue State MN.

Let’s hope it pays off on Tuesday!

HUGE mistake attacking the Tea Party. There are many Blue Dog Dems/Libertarians/Independents in the mix.

Many of the Blue Dogs in my area are disgusted with the way their party is at the moment and feel as though the current ‘rats don’t represent them any more (gone waaaaaay too wackadoodle lefty). They are conservative on many issues....but have voted Democrat because of lineage. I think you will see them voting for Romney this year as they did with Reagan. That’s what I’m getting when I talk to peeps in church and around my neighborhood.

I think Romney will win on Tuesday by a Reagan-Carter ratio.

Still, 1% doesn't get it done. There are WAY TOO MANY dead Chicago voters in Minnesota we need to overcome.

I had a DFL (Minnesota Democrat) door knocker come to my door today. He asked me: If I planned to vote, 2)If I planned to vote DFL, 3)If I planned to vote "No" on A) Voter ID and B)Men and Women being the marriage partners in MN.

I said, "Yes...No...Yes and Yes." The latter two were...again...'Yes and Yes.'

He offered a reason why I should vote "No" at least on Voter ID.

I said he wasn't impressing me at all.

My wife said I sort of torqued his jaw a bit.

I thought it impressive he was out knocking on doors, although, I live in Minneapolis, so it wasn't all that brave on his part.

I love it that Ryan came to town. Non-Minnesota denizens should place their hopes in other states.

I gave my son a lift back to Jersey City today and soon after we left the house here in Bucks County to head over to the I-95 entrance in Newtown we saw a fleet of police cars, buses, and hundreds of cars lining the ramps from 95. On our right was Shady Brook Farm, and there was a stage set up. This was at 3 o’clock. My son guessed that it had to be a political rally and so I switched on KYW news radio and soon found that it was a Romney rally - - scheduled to start at 5 ‘oclock! Believe me, it looked to be shaping up into one massive campaign rally right there.

“Obama is running around joined at the hip with Bill Clinton”

And they’re even using clinton’s rally song “don’t stop thinkin’ about tomorrow.”

Forward! (to the past)

Bad move on their part. I don’t remember 8% unemployment during the 90s.

Randita, the details are that the rally is now scheduled to be at the Patriot Center which is where basketball games and large concerts are held. The Patriot Center is on the campus of George Mason U in the middle of Fairfax. It’s larger than the athletic center where the rally was originally scheduled. I believe the PC holds about 25,000.

This is the latest eaail I got. The Patriot Center is the largest venue at GMU.

“Due to overwhelming demand to see Mitt, we have changed the location for the Fairfax Victory Rally with Mitt Romney and the Republican team on Monday, November 5th, at 2:45 PM.

“The Rally will now be held at the George Mason University Patriot Center, located at 4500 Patriot Circle, in Fairfax. Doors will open at 12:45 PM and the Rally is free and open to the public. The first 500 attendees will receive free souvenir footballs.
“To RSVP to the Republican Team and get your ticket, please go to www.mittromney.com/va or pick up your ticket in person at the Arlington, Bristow, Fairfax, or Sterling Victory Offices. If you have any questions, you can email teamVA@mittromney.com or call us at (757) 279-8253.

“We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
