It has never seemed right to me that only a handful of states decide these races. Something does not seem right about that. As someone said, the map always bleeds red, but only a few states out of 50 (or is it 57? ;-D) decides for all of us.

Well, a handful did NOT decide it. Even if we win, the fact is the GOP has failed in seven election cycles to carry NY, CA, IL, ME, CT, RI, DE, HI, and so on. This isn’t minor stuff. You cannot cede 150 electoral votes right out of the gate and compete for OH, FL, VA and a few others. So it isn’t that those states decide the elections, it’s that we haven’t found a way to penetrate the thick skulls of the other 150 EVs.
