On election day in Wisconsin the political winds will be blowing from the south at 5 to 15 mph.
The forecast calls for a wintry mix of rain and snow in the south with an inch or more of snow in northern Wisconsin, leading to perhaps the chilliest election day in the Milwaukee area in more than three decades.
If surveys and recent historical data of presidential election turnouts are correct, the crummy weather may make Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates smile.
Surveys of voters show weather is often a factor in their decision to head to the polls. Republicans apparently are more hearty and willing to vote no matter the weather, while Democrats apparently are a bit wimpy when it comes to rain, cold and snow.
A poll by the Weather Channel in August indicated that 35% of undecided voters across the nation said bad weather would affect their ability to vote while 27% of registered Democrats and 20% of registered Republicans felt that way.
"If I was the Obama campaign I would be leasing every taxi tomorrow," said Mordecai Lee, a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee professor of governmental affairs who served in the state Assembly and Senate as a Democrat.

I'm not even sure that my state (Illinois) has "early voting" that's how little it matters to me. I'm temporarily on crutches and just getting around, like in and out of a car, is a pain in the rear for me but I will manage to go vote today.
I hope you recover nicely and quickly.
Westward Ho!

Sounds like Mordecai is very worried. Good. We have too many overpaid professors.
You mean the buses bringing voters from Chicago might be delayed? If so, Obama will swing into action and have the Army provide transportation. They have an election to steal, you know.
Getting ready to go vote. It would take an act of the Almighty to prevent my wife and I from voting.
Light snow in Adams County....and it looks like it’s sticking.
I would crawl through glass, walk on coals and even swim through slop to vote today.....
If we were told a year ago that today we would be all hyped up for Romney, who would have believed it. I was extremely hard on him. The pick of Ryan and Mitt’s obvious love of Country has earned my vote. Let that squatter in the White House know its O(ver).
I hope it’s crappy weather everywhere. It won’t stop Republicans, but a slight drizzle will stop demwits in their tracks and they’ll stay bundled up in front of the fireplace at the Starbucks.
