That the Reagan coalition is still viable, or that such things as “Reagan Democrats” actually exist. The GOP got killed among Asian-Americans, who logically should be strong GOP supporters. The GOP is not even asking itself why.

I really hope people stop obsessively trying to discredit polls. They aren't gospel, but in the last two elections they have been fairly accurate, and if anything, slightly republican leaning.

Go back and check the RCP final poll average for the 2010 Senate races - 20 of 23 correctly senate seats picked correctly. Of the the 3 that were incorrect, 2 dems won instead of the predicted republican, and the last was Murkowski beating Miller in Alaska. And obviously, polls were better than GOP cheerleaders this time as well.

The dumbest thing I hear around here is "no one polled me."

WHY do they vote for 'RATs? I don't understand this...

I still think Silver is just fed numbers, but they were correct numbers.

I think the “likely voter” construct has to be reworked.

I also think we are in a cycle where this new demographic wave will turnout in Presidential Elections but not necessarily off year elections. So 2014 might be more like 2010 and 2016 more like 2012/08. Making connections between off years and Pres years.....not really indicative.

The voters weren’t winnable.

We are seeing the damage of 30 years of the teacher’s union molding minds.
We are seeing the damage of giant social saftey nets from cradle to grave.
We are seeing the damage of the new elite consiting of government union employees with billions in out elections.

I can go on and on and on.

We didn’t understand why Obama won in 2008. We thought maybe people wanted to give him a chance, he would be historic first black, post partisan and all that hopey stuff. Then they’d get over it.

Maybe he won because they really wanted a leftist.

I think the leftist Democratic party will turn on him once Obamacare is implemented and they see how much it takes out of their pockets and how hard they work to keep from paying benefits. It will work great like a newlywed groom the first year then get ugly as it rears it’s true colors. Now he doesn’t have to listen to what they have to say and they will get to see what he is really about.

Our only hope now is real economic collapse (on a catastrophic
scale) that will be so devastating that it will bring about
a huge revolt against the Democrats.

Or it might even bring a military coup.

GOP lost presidency because the candidate did not have fire in the belly until too late (first debate). Nor did he express a clear and concise view of his principles or his plan (as Reagan did). People will vote for the devil they know rather than one that waffles.

Contrary to popular wisdom, GOP did not lose senate in 2010 and 2012 because candidates were too conservative. They lost because tea party nominated too many dumbkopf women in 2010 and too many stupid men in 2012. If you are too stupid to handle a press interview or debate question with MSM reporters we don’t need you in the senate. We need intelligent people like Paul Ryan who can articulate their plans and dodge idiotic questions about rape, who don’t dabble in witchcraft, etc.

The tea party is shooting itself in the foot, because people are blaming the message, not the messengers.

everyone who can...

votes anti white

i have tried to explain this here for 12 years but whites...northern ones in Becky land just don’t get it

we have created a culture where anyone not white is to be thought of as a victim of white oppression

and the vast majority do

it has crippled our ability to deal with any problem from immigration to urban crime to illegitimacy to Islam

and now the demographics are insurmountable

Asians voted 9 points higher this time than 2008 for Democrats

only bright side...white young kids voted for Romney 51%...8 point bump from 2008

still...i bet even Vietnamese voted Obama maybe

Oh...

Perhaps a mixed twisted messages lets people down, too?

What exactly is the conservative agenda?

We are against homosexuals in the military, we are against homosexual marriage but we like homosexuals when they agree with us and tell us what we want to hear?

It is a schizophrenic mess in my opinion.

So do we decide we accept homosexuals because it is what we believe or it will win us elections?

Ann Coulter seems to think that is the way to go.

The whole thing is hypocritical as is.

I am not saying one way or the other but as it is, it is stupid r-tard B.S. FAKE.

Gender gap is gone.

Even the Northeast RINOs don't seem to care - the entire GOP acts like responding to that characterization is beneath them.

Republicans have a huge message problem - they strongly desire to use government power to control behavior they don't like, but they still want to pretend they are the defenders of American liberty. The voters (quite correctly) are not buying it, but they are buying the Democrats' doing the exact same thing because it comes wrapped in free stuff.

Dick Morris should be fired from FOX—I never want to see that SOB again! Fox should close up shop and go underground like Beck—They have lead us astray. America hates them! Obama is a genius —he is unable to be defeated in a election. He has the Unions (who will get richer) the MSM (who will get fatter) Seros and the Liberal Hollywood Crowd—what could stand against them? No one! Not a Timid Mittens. Now we must support Obama and work to make his vision of America Come true. His America is where we will live and our children and grand children. We need to fly the USA flag with his face upon it—it is the future of the USA. All Hail Obama! The first and greatest American of them all.

"weren't winnable"

That's the simple truth. The sad fact is more and more Americans are downright happy with the sound of socialism. Pie in the sky. I call them the ignorati. Their numbers swell every year. It might be near the time to offer Americans the choice of which country they want to live in: the socialist one or the free-market capitalist one. Right now I'd say this country is not a center-right country anymore. It's center-left. The parasites, the takers, the leeches won again. Let's amicably separate, and they can live in their socialist paradise.
