My daughter was out rioting at her campus last night, to see what it was like. The groups she got in (she did it twice) were just marching and chanting. She heard another group got into the library and trashed it, not sure what liberals have against books, but whatever.
These weren’t anti-Obama protests. These were the kids who, seeing they have no future, wanted to matter, and the OFA people spent months registering them on campus, and then bussing them to polling places, helping them with absentee ballots. It’s easy because all the voters are in one place, and now they are all happy they “made a difference”.
I got the feeling for a lot of them it was more like backing the winning football team than actually making decisions that effect their lives. They didn’t know anything about how the world worked. The did understand that they like gay marriage, think sex is great so contraceptives are good and abortion is necessary, and that’s why they voted for Obama. Plus, for kids he was still cool — apparently the “first time” video wasn’t rediculous as we thought, but was a deal-maker for college kids who weren’t otherwise motivated.
