Knid, I applaud you. You done good on many levels, with your firm decision on house needs, and your can-do spirit.

You’re on Lon Gisland with 5” on the ground already!? I don’t remember seeing that kind of snowfall in years. I deal with tropical storms these days...

Why, thank you, Sarge!

Yeah, we’ve got about 5 inches on the ground. I know it’s not much, but coming so hard on the heels of Sandy, it’s a bit of a pain in the butt.

Last year we lucked out big time: NO SNOW at ALL.

The year before....we got slammed. 2 blizzards in one year. It was a mess.

Well! I just looked out the window and the snow seems to have stopped. I’m still a little worried about these trees, though. Their branches are hanging way low.

Keeping my fingers crossed,
Regards,

Maybe this storm can make the Kenyan look “presidential” again.

He doesn't need to look "presidential" anymore. He won.

Glad you made through and I believe your kids will be better off for it. They made it through a big ordeal.

A friend of mine from ND, now lives somewhere in NYC kept his hip waders even though he no longer hunts and his New Yorker wife made fun of them. He has been using them for the last few days while helping in his neighborhood.

Here's the thing. They don't ever realize it. They just think people like you and me didn't "give enough" to get it to work. That's why I don't give a hoot about any storm, impending doom, or any other related weather emergency. NY and NJ don't like it, have them ask their government to protect them but leave the rest of the country alone and separate from your misery.

You didn't hear North Dakota bitching when they got 37 FEET of snow in 2010. And there are so many similar stories. NY and NJ...don't care anymore....and they don't care when "flyover country" gets hit.

I do hope your friend is holding up safe and sound now, Doc.

Regards,

PS: Yup, I agree that my boys will be better off for it. Just the other day my oldest said, “I have a new respect for Laura Ingalls.” I bet he does.
