This powerful metaphor came to mind today as I pondered the inevitable collapse of the once invincible U.S.A.

Our Constitutional Republic was a grand idea; a wonderful and fragile experiment in Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness. We are now too far down socialism’s “free stuff” slope to stop the descent into madness and collapse. It’s not the fall that will kill us; it’s the sudden stop at the bottom.

How long do we have?

This powerful metaphor came to mind today as I pondered the inevitable collapse of the once invincible U.S.A.

All I can say is we've supported the welfare slugs long enough. In fact, money for THEIR keep comes out of our pay checks before we even get them!
There are hard working, fine Americans in this country who can't afford a cell phone for their kids, yet the slugs get theirs free of charge. Does that sound right to anyone else?
Not every working American can afford a two or three bedroom apartment. They have to live in small utility apartment because it's all they can afford, yet some bimbo who's never done anything for anyone in her life gets knocked up, and she gets the apartment as well as the equivalent of $40-$60K a year in "free" benefits. Does this sound fair to anyone else?

In a way, an economic crash is the only way to free the tax slaves. If there's no money to take, the slaves may have a hard time getting by, but they will because they've had practice already, and they'll be a free people again.

Screw the freeloaders. They can eat each other for all I care. My family has already done more than it's "fair" share.

A very powerful excerpt from AS. It causes me to ponder those who read it when first published in 1957 or perhaps the John Birch Society members of that time with their dire view of the political situation. They knew...they could see the clouds gathering...yet we laughed and played in the sunshine, bought by patriots’ blood, unwilling to understand the inexorable cycle of human folly and hubris.

Excellent post. I’ve been struggling to find motivation to do any work today. Thanks for posting that. I just printed it and put it on my office door.

There was a pacifist plea during WW2. Naive as it suggested it against Nazis. But that the key was simple passive disobedience. Refusal to acknowledge the Germans if they invaded.

I think falling back and strengthening ourselves akin to what the free state project wanted to do. Because if you live in an area where you know nobody will enforce anything on the feds behalf you’ve essentially liberated yourself from them.

We were invincible while we were moral. We are no longer moral, as a whole. The subsequent collapse is inevitable.

The poison took hold in the 1960s. Since then, we have only been fighting a rear-guard delaying action against national collapse.

Now the enemy within is at the gates and the fall is imminent.

It has been more than a decade since I have wondered how the Roman Empire fell. I no longer wonder because I am seeing it in real time. The masses are lazy and decadent and want free stuff rather than work. Meanwhile, the US is flooded with Mexicans while Europe is flooded with Muslims.

I know exactly now how Rome Fell. Immorality and opening their doors to invaders. I am seeing it all in real time along with the parallel collapse.

There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.
