The House is led by Boehner. Need we say any more. Boehner is setting up the GOP to roll over on everything. He hasn’t got the guts to face down Reid or Obama.
A courageous House speaker would pass spending bills one by one and dare the Senate to kill them. A separate bill for Defence. A separate bill for Healthcare. A separate bill for social security. Etc., etc. A line item veto in reverse. Start with the departments that are most important to Republicans and tell Obama and Reid that the next spending bill won’t be debated in the House until the first one is passed and signed into law.

Perfect! Love it! Won’t happen, unfortunately.
Yes. but, you don't need to be that courageous to do this, it is logical and within their practical power. Start parsing out legislation and fixing one department/issue budget at a time, and pass lots of it. Set the agenda Republican House because if you just stand there and play defense you will get booted out in 2 years.

Is the vote for Speaker open or closed?
Does one need 50+% or just enough to win?
Thought I had heard once before that they have to be ‘careful’ because the Speaker could be of the other party?
Anyway, maybe if the sitting Congressmen were put on notice - either get rid of this jerk or lose your own seat...
It is about time the the VOTERS flexed their muscles, some of these clowns get into office and FORGET they represent US, not themselves or special interests.
A courageous house speaker would state that there will be no more continuing resolutions, and no additional money will go to ANY government program (including the military) until the senate finally obeys the law after nearly 4 years, and passes a budget.
Tell Harry Reid to go talk to Dave Ramsey! And afterwards, to go pound sand!
