Bradley Manning, the US soldier accused of handing hundreds of thousands of classified diplomatic files to Wikileaks, has offered to plead to guilty to some of the charges against him.
Private Manning's lawyers said the 24-year-old was prepared to "accept responsibility" for some of the 34 charges but would continue to contest the US government's case that he aided al Qaeda and compromised America's national security.
A US military judge will decide whether to accept his unusual offer, which was made unilaterally and not as part of plea bargain with prosecutors. …

It is very clear that Manning has had, and still has, the support of the Obama administration.
It was probably an Obama project in the first place.
I'll have to disagree there, the firing squad has a tradition of being a more honorable death for a soldier than the gallows. I consider Manning to be a traitor who was never much of a soldier to begin with, and a first class idiot to boot.
He gave classified info to those with an agenda in a fit of pique because he wanted to serve openly as a homosexual. The brainless tool only had to wait about six months and he would have gotten his wish, without the need for betraying the trust mistakenly put in him. He deserves NOTHING honorable at all, least of all, an honorable end...

Same here, though for some reason I always thought he was a SIGINT Analyst. Suppose I was wrong. When were you in, if you don’t mind my asking?
IIRC, he’s a 96B Intelligence Analyst. I was in from 1978-83. You?
From what I read on the Wiki, it all it says is Intel Analyst. So I’d say 96B or 35F as they called us post 08. I was in from JUL05-OCT12. On to better things now.

I’m not a big fan of the death penalty, but sometimes someone just flat out deserves it.
