Their strategy has usually been to THREATEN all kinds of crackdowns, and lately they’ve been using the UN as a “remote surrogate”. Any crackdown or official dragnet on gun ownership will of course leave the “dangerous” guns where they’ve always been, which is in the hands of criminals of all types who use guns to rob, rape, and pillage. By letting it be known, oh so slowly and gradually, that it ‘might be coming’ their ultimate aim is to make gun owners (and I, by the way, am NOT one)very very nervous, and start moving into a defensive crouch which the gun grabbers will have no trouble describing as
an offensive assault-in-the-making (an attempt to “overthrow the government”)It hasn’t worked before, and it won’t happen now-—though it will have its sorry supporters, right up to the bitter end, to be sure.
