Indeed. I was moved powerfully by my four visits to Russia. Some of my children were born in Russia and have Russian as well as American passports.
However, I remain concerned about the Russian disdain for the Jews, and Israel in particular, and their pandering to the hostile and volatile Moslem nations.
I surmise this is related to Russian Orthodox eschatology, which I believe is post-millenial or perhaps amillenial.
Modern Evangelical Christian eschatology expects the resurrection of historic and geographic Israel, and that all the nations, which includes Russia and the US, will come against her in the end times.
That is what the Bible says, and God’s Word will be fulfilled exactly as He has said. It would “behoove” us, as my dad used to say, to listen to Him, i.e., believe Him and humble ourselves before Him.
