Can’t wait for these people to run our Healthcare. :)
They should be rejoicing the government has taken care of them. Can’t you feel the love of big government? I bet it is cold and a numbing feeling.
South Carolina linemen were in NY right after Sandy and were told that only UNION workers were allowed to do the repairs. That is insane, bordering criminal.
Those people will NEVER learn. You want unions, you get unions and nothing but unions.
I really feel bad for the people who have to endure the problems of a disaster, but if they have the time to protest wouldn’t that time be better spent helping their neighbors and community recover?
The root cause of the problem is obvious. Not enough windmills, not enough solar panels, and certainly not enough payments for “carbon credits.”
People are fools you do not put power up in a few days..union or non union....In Florida it took just as long ...You need to figure on two week minimum in storms like this..It is probably much harder up there the equipment is older
Then with a big smile, Hervey went on to say, "But we can all be grateful that these East Coast Liberals voted Democrat and kept Mr. Obama in a position to cut the red tape."
Yep! And they will work reaaalllllyyy slowly to get all of that overtime.
We lived 50 miles north of Houston and after hurricane Ike we were without power for 17 days. No one protested. Fortunately we did not have to endure the cold. We always endured the heat after a hurricane.
NJ supposedly just got another 1600 linemen this week from somewhere . They went from 265,000 out on Friday to 46,000 out now. Sister still doesn’t have power. But at least they got a generator.
I remember there was some bad heat wave somewhere in Texas. Forgot year. Governor Bush said not to worry about air conditioning bill. Just use it and work out payment later.
Not sure how that worked out. That part never made the news.
I think that year over 5,000 people in France died due to heat wave.
Wake me when they start to place the blame on Obama. I expect I’ll be sleeping for a long time.
Believe that!
I’m sure though after enough overtime some bodies gonna just want sleep after 16hr shift get too much.
I’m sure payday’s gonna be nice though.
Con Edison . Think that’s NY , already talking about rate increase.
Not sure about jcpl but wouldn’t be surprised there.
Enjoy your sleep. Probably a hundred years from now they’ll be a new hero and Obama will be thrown under the bus.
You don't have to tell me that, my daughter was 21 days old when Hugo came through SC and we did not have power for 4 weeks! Thank God for breastfeeding and for the angels who hiked along roads closed by fallen trees to bring me a 6 month supply of diapers. My husband and his brother were out from day one, helping elderly neighbors and clearing the roads. We NEVER turned down any offer of help! I doubt the people of NY would do it either, it was a shock to hear that the unions turned down help.
Don’t blame the power companies. Blame the unions who sent non-union people home so they could make more time and a half, double time on Sundays, and triple time on the holidays!!
Cuomo’s remarks condemning the power companies smell of government takeover to me. They are all so evil and deceitful.
