Cheryl is one of them. Were different because we don’t spend our money on gadgets. The newest smart phone and things like that. We put our money into things that we can use and keep, things that are enduring.”
Maybe she should. Yes, it wouldn’t help in a total meltdown but it would if there was a local emergency and you could have access to gps and internet.

One would certainly think so.
That pic looks like an old fashioned General Store

Food storage is more complicated then just storing a few cans away. I’ve have to do an inventory of what I’ve got and make a meal plan to see if I have enough stored up.

"I have an outhouse with a 30,000 gallon tank underneath it."
That might be a typo; maybe a 3,000 gal tank. But 30,000 gals? That's a really, really, really massive tank. Kudos to her if she does!

Or she could just pick up a regular old fashion phone and then have the skills and the training to handle it until help shows up. You don’t need the latest I phone old GSM phones can be tracked.
Seems to me if people would talk to people face to face instead of from a phone life would make a leap forward greater than many of the gadgets that so enthrall people these days ever could.

Anybody know how much a 30,000 storage tank costs? (just kidding). Bravo Cheryl!

From some of the post I see on FR maybe she has a lot of FReepers as friends so she needs something that will hold a lot of $#!T! ;-)

"I have an outhouse with a 30,000 gallon tank underneath it." If she fills it with vodka, she'll be the richest woman in the country after SHTF.

LOL. I was trying to put it politely, as you nicely did, but couldn’t, and instead went typo route. That’s some dumper, Cheryl! Take a LOT of septic tanker trucks to drain that swamp, baby.

Drop a 15hp sump into it and she could sell it by the gallon for months. Get the whole damned town drunk.
