EL CAJON, Calif. — Eight months after the beating death of an Iraqi-American woman that drew international attention because it appeared to be a hate crime, the woman’s husband has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.
Police in the San Diego suburb of El Cajon announced the arrest Friday of Kassim Alhimidi, 48, and described the killing as an act of domestic violence.
The March killing of 32-year-old Shaima Alawadi made waves around the world after the couple’s 17-year-old daughter told reporters that she found a note by her mother’s bludgeoned body that read: “Go back to your country, you terrorist.”

I don’t suppose anyone is going back to Iraq to set the record straight that it wasn’t the haraam Americans who killed her, but her honor-killer husband.
I don’t suppose that they would believe that version of the story anyhow.

When an article about the killing was posted on FR, Freepers were on to the faux hate-crime scam. One particularly astute FReeper (sorry I don't recall the name)pointed to the wording of the note as evidence that it wasn't written by an American. As in, an American would have written, "Go back to your own country.."

As far as that goes, I believe that honor killings ARE hate crimes—against women.
Just because her husband killed her does that make it any less a hate crime.
I would think you wouldhave to hate your wife pretty bad to kill her.
Honor killing are just Muslim excuses for murder.
This guy if convicted will be just one more murdering POS sitting on California’s death row, Over 600 there now being fed, clothed and probably given gender transplants if they want them. If you want to kill someone California is the place to do it.

The premise was that she was murdered by a non-muslim because she was a muslim and that would bring out sympathy for muslims. They sure fell for that one.

Yes, it was another ... ANOTHER! ... obvious set-up. I’m discouraged by the number of people who desperately want to believe that the United States regularly has white, Christian people attacking strangers because of race, sexuality, or religion. If this happens, it sure never makes the news. All the cases that make the news are frauds.

Yes I understand how he tried to hide his crime, but in fact if he were in a Muslim country it would not be a crime.
A supposed honor killer should have the honor to proclaim why he did it. This guy is just a killer.
Well: He did it in California, he will be fine.
