Obama can send Joe Biden to explain that Congress, not the UN, gets to decide on statehood, that normally you have to be a territory first, and that the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico are ahead of them in line. If that fails, just tell him that the House of Representatives would never vote for it because it’s controlled by Republicans who are prejudiced against people who don’t speak English. That should work.
