Between the Romney campaign and the GOPe this election was a disaster. What I find remarkable about it was how it was so unnecessary, and comes down to the political stupidity and stubborness of Mitt Romeny himself.

I have been told that in years past much of the “footwork” was done by an army of conservaitve volunteers, people who were basically shut out of this year’s Republican campaign.

Before the Tampa convention, an experienced and savvy politician would have reached out and enfolded conservatives, Tea Party folks, and particularly Sarah Palin, into the campaign. Yes, Romeny would have had to negotiate some issues but winning should have been his goal. He adamantly refused, though pressured, to reach out to Sarah Palin - this I’ve read but do not know any details. Perhaps you know something about it.

Obviously, there were factors Romney and the GOPe refused to deal with within the Party and it may have cost them the election. In my opinion, the election was stolen by fraud, so in the end it really may not have mattered much.

It was obvious, the Romney campaign made a conscious decision that they felt Palin would be a detriment to their campaign. They wanted her as far away from the campaign as possible. You never once heard Romney say her name much less ask her to appear with him.

Should have not dismissed the hoards of fans of Ron Paul either. I think they just stayed home. He also never went on conservative talk radio-a huge audience. Guess he was only going for the undecideds-if there is any such things.

Lets not forget the folly of RNC rules 12 and 16, the removal of key delegate members from the rules committee, and the shenanigans of the “rules vote”.

At the convention, we had long-time participants just get up and leave in disgust.

Mitt Willard appears to be more of his father's son than i realized. Gorgeous George was an opinionated horses terminal orifice famed for his seething with rage walkout from the 64 GOP Convention. He also displayed his famed charm when Barry Goldwater came to Michigan to address a large rally in the Detroit area. Gorgeous George with stonefaced contempt walker to the mike and said “The Republican candidate for President of the United States.” Then stalked back and sat with an expression of boiling anger with his arms tightly folded throughout Goldwater’s speech and at the end made it a point to very publicly stalk off the platform deliberately turning his back on Goldwater as he left. It was the most unpleasant public performance by a major political figure i have ever seen. Gorgeous George made Dennis Kucinich look like a model of mannerly decorum. Willard seems to have picked up the stiff necked self-righteousness from his old man.
