“Didn’t you hear they passed high-speed rail?”

How forward-thinking of them. I think I saw an episode about that new-fangled railroad thingie on “Little House On The Prairie”. Way cool, California.

If you mean Nicolae Ceausescu you're mixing apples and oranges. Brown's a small-timer in comparison and lacks complete dictatorial control. He's still an elected official and must answer in some small part to the voters, even us conservatives.

Some of the worst problems in CA come from illegal immigration. While I'm sure Brown is sympatico with the illegals, we found out with Prop. 187 that the Federal Judiciary is too, and they make the rules. Frankly, big agriculture interests in CA that demand low-paid workers are a huge part of that problem. Even if Brown were sent packing we'd still have the illegals as well as a near-communist legislature. As I said before, Brown's just a puppet. Ceausescu wasn't; he was a tyrant.

Calif. has already kicked around the idea of an “Exit/Departure Tax”

“A ballot proposal is underway in California that would amend the State Constitution with a Wealth Tax. Specifically, this is an additional tax to be levied against high valued property, and high income (between 36.5% - 54.3% one-time tax) should a resident die, OR DECIDE TO LEAVE THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.”

I heard last week that they’re discussing making it retroactive. We beat cheeks outta there in 2010, and we’re wondering how retroactive it’ll bel.

Google this: california exit tax — and you’ll get some interesting hits.

The Constitution guarantees the right of free passage and immigration, of American Citizens, among the several states. The Supreme Court has used that to strike down laws aimed at placing a burden on those moving into a state. I have not researched it, but I expect that the Federal Courts would strike down a measure that placed a burden on moving out of a state.

Texans are different for a reason, its a culture. While illegals and yankees wander in there is something about the culture that will make some opinions change. Welcome to Texas, enjoy the freedom but never take us for granted. We will have our say about the Democrats taking anything over.Again welcome.

Guess I don’t have much of a sense of humor when it comes to Ceausescu.

“California will have to build an “iron curtain” now to keep businesses from leaving.”

And that they will do.

With plenty of help from the federal government, too!

Time to take off and nuke Sacramento from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
