There have been a number of proposals to divide California. If a division matched against Puerto Rican statehood is not possible maybe we could arrange a match with an Illinois/Chicagosplit.

East California would already have the capital set up. Our legislature would instantly become right of center as would our Governor. Very little expense involved unless the lefties blow up the town before they leave.

There are a few towns (notably San Diego) who would be screwed (being on the west side of the 50 mile zone) but the east side would get screwed as well (those few Blue Counties up near Tahoe).

It might just work. Would we get the San Joaquin valley? Or most of it.

California is just the canary in the coalmine. Expect it to spread. Everywhere.

The other day I passed a sign in Berkeley (posted next to a vacant lot or demolished building): a picture of a dead canary in a cage, with the caption "Wake the f*ck up."

San Diego both City and County went Obama. The city council has trended Dem, the congressional delegation is set to flip 3-2 GOP to 3-2 DEM, the mayor-elect, Bob Filner, is an elderly retiring registered Socialist, a Democrat congressman union stooge who is the son of a Communist Party USA activist.

It's over.
