Orson Scott Card wrote the Ender’s Game series about a child named Andrew, nicknamed “Ender” for his being the exceptional third child in a Orwellian Future, and he is recruited as a child to become a conditioned military commander for the space military against an alien race which has nearly destroyed the human race and space colonies. Pretty much the synopsis of the book, and the parallel timeline Shadow Series, which covers Andrew’s Family and some of his military academy colleagues during the time of the original series. I found those great too. Card decides to write some realism (i.e. fiction laced with theoretical physics) that gives his novels somewhat of an interesting twist.
The Ender’s Game movie is supposed to cover the first movie, along with the parallel storyline of Shadow to a smaller extent, and more details follow here:

All I can say is that Card does somewhat decent novels, and frankly, since he has some supervisory role over the film adaptation, I have some confidence that it will be a decent film.
Let’s hope!
Thanks for the info.
Cheers,
