{Moslem} Praying Man Acquitted of Phone Robbery

..On Aug. 8 -- the 21st day of Ramadan -- Hussein left work in the Mission, hopped on BART, and headed to his mosque in downtown where he planned to break his fast.

..Hussein was tired and hungry. He started praying quietly to himself in Arabic when he noticed a man watching him from across the aisle, according to the Public Defender's Office. The man's phone was facing Hussein, who said he noticed a blinking red light.

"Mr. Hussein had been ridiculed by strangers in the past while performing his religious requirements," Evangelista said. "He decided he was going to erase his image from the man's phone."

Hussein took the phone, and the passenger grabbed him by his jacket; the two began to struggle while another passenger -- a black belt and judo instructor -- saw what was going on and sprinted toward the fighting men.

When Hussein saw the man running toward him at top speed, he ran onto the platform at Civic Center station, where the judo instructor tackled him and placed him in a choke hold, according to the Public Defender's Office. Hussein began to lose consciousness so a bystander talked the instructor into letting him loose.

During the three-day trial, Hussein's brother testified that their Yemeni family, which owns two liquor stores in San Francisco, had been harassed for their beliefs in the past. He also testified that taking photographs was forbidden, particularly during the holy month. ..

Taking photos in a public place was a right in old America. Now photograph a federal building, a bridge, an airport, a train station, a cop in a random setting, etc,, and you will be detaind and arrested.
A woman had this happen to her just for filming outside the democrat convention.

Now filming moslems in public will be added to this.

Its amazing how fast Americas freedom has diminished from 20 years ago. Now activities that used to be unthinkable for government are commonplace.
This may not end well.

Sorry, but the claim of Muslim piety does not seem consistent with his owning liquor stores.

FU and your 4th amendment.

Was the guy’s photo even on the phone? And even if it were there is no justification for taking someone elses property.

Said property isn’t just for taking pictures of paranoid, delusional, Aholes. It’s also a productuvity device containing work product important to one’s job or company, much of which might be proprietary.

Total BS this martyr is given a pass for assualt and theft and deprivation.

The DA must’ve thrown this case....

Maybe the DA received a friendly reminder from The Holder Gang.

Is their any group that foments hate, or despises Americans and wants to see them destroyed that is not protected in this country. Are we the only ones who are not guaranteed protections? It will not be long before our government begins to give out medals to those who destroy our way of life or the outright murder of their fellow Americans.

So I understand they’ve got a proscription against images of Muhammed. But now, what is it—a fatwa against infidels capturing images of any Muslim?

How convenient that could be for them!

If the authorities are willing to give a Muslim a pass for “religious reasons”, for violating the law, then it is up to other citizens to insure that when Muslims violate the law, they receive an appropriate punishment on the spot, to insure that at least some form of justice is rendered as a consequence for violating the law.

In this case, an appropriate punishment for stealing a phone, of a value less than $500, and unprovoked assault, would typically be, I guess, about a month in jail. So to accidentally trod upon their hand, breaking some bones therein, is roughly an equivalent punishment to what they should have received.

In that theft is involved, I suppose some poetic justice could be seen in stomping their left hand, as amputation of the left hand for theft being a common punishment in Islam.

Think of it as a “happy medium” between their justice and ours.
