I think all we have is misinformation.

Yet a congressional source told Fox News that CIA Director David Petraeus, during a briefing with members of the House Intelligence Committee three days after the attack, espoused the view that Benghazi was an out-of-control demonstration prompted by the YouTube video.--US officials knew Libya attack was terrorism within 24 hours, sources confirm - FoxNews, September 27, 2012
But the next day, Sept 14, Petraeus went to Capital Hill and described the attack as something befitting a flash mob, "where the militants showed up spontaneously with RPGs."--It was not premeditated (according to Petraeus).
As the "spontaneous attack" narrative fell apart in the days after Petraeus pushed it, lawmakers expressed anger, frustration, and disappointment that Petraeus did not avail himself of the very intelligence that suggested this was an Al Qaeda attack to begin with.
Petraeus: Benghazi Was Spontaneous Attack - Breitbart, October 29, 2012

I thought the hearing was behind closed doors and the testimony was classified. Anyway Brietbart doesn't offer an explanation how he got the supposed Petraeus quote. And the only named source I've seen who has claimed Petraeus has said this, is some Rat congressman from Maryland who attended the closed door hearing.
Somebody is trying to rehabilitate Petraeus, and Gingrich is being used to that end.
I can't come to that conclusion and I think it's most likely wrong.
