When you as far to the Left as Cornell West, Reagan and Rockefeller would be to the Right, but then so would Bill Clinton.

When I wrote my post, I assumed it would be read with intelligence.
Who is West? What is his ideology? He is a black militant in the 1960s mode.
To people of West's ideology, Nelson Rockefeller is the fascist who put down the people's rebellion in Attica. To West, he is the right wing ideologue who passed the Rockefeller drug laws, which were a grand conspiracy against the black community. To West, he is the racist who presided over New York's cooperation with COINTELPRO - yet another white supremacist plot.
In the hate literature of the 1960s black left, Rockefeller figures much more prominently in their demonology than Reagan ever did.
