Boehner Letter to GOP House (THE VALUE OF A MAJORITY)

....

THE PROBLEM

Warning signs are flashing on the dashboard for our party. Some of the problems are tactical in nature; others are strategic. We can’t ignore them and expect to assemble a winning electoral coalition in the future.

We need a state-of-the-art political infrastructure fueled by rock-solid data that can be relied upon to turn out voters when we need them in the places they’re needed most. We need accurate survey data, and technology in place that will ensure such data is put to use. And as I noted earlier, our strategy at all levels must be aimed at reaching potential voters from all walks of life. That doesn’t mean changing our principles; it means changing our approach.

“This is a “Hearts and Minds” effort.

It requires a new way to think about the political battlefield.’

Well said - sounds like what Boehner is saying:

“That doesn’t mean changing our principles; it means changing our approach.”

“Hello, doesn’t House Majority Leader already have LOTS on his plate, he’s going to take on campaign strategist hat too?”

Yeah probably not Boehner cup of tea... he the poster child for “boring white guy”

The problem, Johnny Boehner, is with those in the GOP in leadership positions. For the good of the party and America, step down and let Paul Ryan take charge.

The problem is John Boehner, and the "establishment" GOP. Leave already.

Abadoning core principles for the the sake of bipartisanship is never an option.

Fool me once, shame on you!
Fool me 372 times, shame on my incompetence.

You idiot!
No more "we will reduce spending over the next ten years" BULLSHIT.*

You want tax increases tomorrow?
Give us spending reductions of three times that amount tomorrow!

We MUST reduce the absurd spending increases of the last 6 years.

*Bullshit

“Both the liar and the honest man must have regard for truth, the former to subvert it and the latter to propagate it. Bullshit, by contrast, is fundamentally unconcerned with truth or falsehood, but only with appearance, effect and persuasion, however transitory. Yuri Luzhkov was not accusing the Moscow weather forecasters of lying, or yet of trying to predict the weather and honestly failing; he was accusing them of not caring about the true weather. The essence of bullshit is getting away with it, with persuading listeners or readers of a sincerity that is, by definition, phoney. The bullshit artist simply does not care about truth: “He pays no attention to it at all,” writes Professor Frankfurt. “By virtue of this, bullshit is a greater enemy of truth than lies are.”

Screw Boehner-—he shows his ignorance while trying, oh so hard, to sound the “intellect”.

Common sense demands an investigation into the VOTING FRAUD ACROSS THE COUNTRY, John...but, you won’t worry you’re little head (and I mean that!), so, just go get another drink. We’ll eventually find an intelligent male for Speaker.

“The only thing I want to hear (or read) from Boehner is his resignation! Gingrich for Speaker!!”

Ok Jim - how would that work, not the first part, the second ?

I like it... but ????

“There are rumors swirling about his affairs.”

If Boehner had any affairs I think there would actually be a whole new level of respect for him.... the guy is white bread soaked in milk.

I’m not an expert in that department but it was a suggestion made by Mark Levin a few days ago. It seems the Speaker does not have to be a member of congress. If that is true, why not bring back Mr. Speaker himself?

Back in the day.....maybe. Now, probably not. I wish had the juice. I’ll suggest you post that (ok, so clean up the spelling, etc.. :) ) on Republican and conservative sites ALL over. Get it out there.

I’m former military as well, but I flew airplanes for Uncle Sam. The kind of training you are describing for spec ops folks....I’m actually very familiar with. You are right; it would be invaluable.

You need to get to the RNC. Sell them on the value of capitalizing on the training of spec ops guys. See, not telling you a thing you don’t already know here, but most Americans see spec ops as guys in some video game. Automatons with weapons who stealthily stalk their prey and never miss.

The truth....is that most have advanced degrees and are highly trained in the art of winning over “hearts and minds”.

I know this, but it doesn’t mean squat that I know this.

How about this.....there are Web sites dedicated to spec ops, and former spec ops guys. Use them. Implore them. Organize. There was a team set up by such a group to monitor voting sites to counter the New Black Panthers on election day. Start with them; was discussed heavily here on FR.

Expand that mission. They have a lot of members. Give them a REASON to exploit their patriotism, training, and experience to fight back via the political process. Engage them.

I’m a marketing/business development guy by profession, in the high-tech field. I know about messaging, positioning, strategy.

This is an excellent strategy you suggest. RUN with it.

The first thing Boehner needs to do is to get a big pair of BALLS, and then use them to defend America.

Everything else is just talk, useless like “yesterday’s wind” unless it accomplishes something.

Googled it and found this on wikidpedia:

The Constitution provides that the House may choose its own Speaker.[22] Although not explicitly required by the Constitution, every Speaker has been a member of the House. The Constitution does not specify the duties and powers of the Speaker, which are instead regulated by the rules and customs of the House. Speakers have a role both as a leader of the House and the leader of their party (which need not be the majority party; theoretically, a member of the minority party could be elected as Speaker with the support of a fraction of members of the majority party). Under the Presidential Succession Act (1947), the Speaker is second in the line of presidential succession behind the Vice President.

Thanks for your advice. I'm an Alabama-educated type, hence the speed typos.

As for moving it forward, I'm attempting to pass the baton.

See, I continue to work for the G in two jobs involving both aspects of my screen name. I'm unable to run with it in the position I'm in...

That kind of limits me to the genesis of the idea, if you're tracking....

“suggestion made by Mark Levin”

That would be very cool.. and drive the dems nuts.

He was a great Speaker, effective and well spoken.

Good rant and suggestions.

We need to conduct political guerrilla warfare against the Left while building up our ideological foundation, personnel/infrastructure, operational forces, and strategies.

THEN WE STRIKE FAST AND HARD.

SOG and MAIN FORCES.
