The unmanned aerial vehicles have become a mainstay of the U.S. military. In combat zones, the pilotless craft perform everything from surveillance to missile strikes against U.S. enemies in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Now, just as our troops are coming home, so is their most advanced technology. And it's bringing with it a cargo of safety, privacy and civil liberty concerns.

Benjamin Wittes, a Washington, D.C., national security analyst, has been asking that what-now question and expects to pose it to Minnesota leaders at the second annual Robotics Alley conference in Edina, Thursday, Nov. 15 -- a conference designed to boost a burgeoning Twin Cities robotics industry.

Lets see now, we have nothing to worry about, the previous US census was run out of the White Hut, the GPS location of each citizen’s home + / - 60 feet,was taken in the pre census and forms a descretely accessable data base?

Wannabe terrorist engineering grad Rezwan Ferdhaus did, in fact, assemble all of the kit needed to attack any heavy airframe including AF1 or your family's airliner, which is explained if you search the right terms on the web. Let me put it this way: Can the “review” of my thread that I posted on 12/28/11 (link below) regarding the “runway kill zone” be lifted? After the blog at the link has been up for a year there has been no suggestion from the numerous US agencies that are aware of it that it constututes “loose lips.”

IMO, it is an attack vector for terrorists that the public and government could help defend against if they were aware of what to look for.

FReepers showed a fair amount of interest in the topic before it was understandably pulled for “review.”
