An outbreak of the hospital superbug MRSA has been brought to an end by UK doctors cracking the bacterium's genetic code.
It led to them finding one member of staff at Rosie Hospital, in Cambridge, who may have unwittingly carried and spread the infection.
They say it is the first time rapid genetic testing has been used to track and then stop an outbreak.

It would be if it did not come from UK Media. They have a Medical Miracle story every week, which then fades away, and nothing is ever heard about it again.
That's how you run a National Health Service. It's cheaper this way, and best of all, for that one day, the Ward Deaths are shoved off the front page.
Now our medical device manufacturers are issuing thousands of layoff notices, to pay for the new tax. R&D will be stopped, but we can rely on the journalists to continue to write Science Fiction so the beery little people will not worry.
So this is science fiction,,,or maybe another commie plot? I’ll accept the story until some “Yankee Doodle Doctors” come along and disprove it.
Just saying little or nothing will come of it. Generally, nothing does, including the pill for lung cancer a couple of months ago.
Just read the Daily Mail or the Times online once in a while, and see for yourself.
And it's a good thing to do anyway, to see what an established Government-run healthcare system is really like.
