This may have been posted already. Free Republic search function doesn't work for me anymore.
I've found articles that didn't show up in the FR search function by searching for them in Google and appending 'freerepublic' to my search.

forgot to say: using a Google search with freerepublic in the search terms can work pretty well for finding individual comments too.
