Wow, I’ll bet drinking and fighting w/ the wife has NEVER happened in the Navy before this.

I thought this was some kind of joke. What in the world is our military becoming.

What can you do with a drunken sailor? Yeah, this is rare. A sailor getting drunk. If the Navy is going to drum out sailors for getting drunk, we won’t have a Navy.

Media once again on the hunt for discourse in the military. How many people in CIVILIAN LIFE do this same thing and we hear nothing about it? Don’t give me the crap that it IS the military and they should hold a higher standard. I can name numerous top leaders (non-military) who have done far worse and NOTHING is ever heard of it.

And a retired senior chief reported him.

But on the other side it appears he made no friends in the on post bars either.

If you’re the MMFIC in charge don’t be kicking sand in others faces and then go drinking around them.

If I were still in the Navy, I too would drink heavily if I had to serve under this POS Commander in Chief we now have.

Funny there isn’t move of this made public.

What in the world is our military becoming.

Nothing worthy of the name.

Used to be you wanted the biggest, baddest, ball-kicking dude in your platoon.
Now the brass chastises him for being the biggest, baddest, ball-kicking dude, and forces him out.
Now you get queers with daisies stuck in their rifle muzzles watching your back(side) and making sure their gear all matches.

“Wow, I’ll bet drinking and fighting w/ the wife has NEVER happened in the Navy before this.”

If the wife and I are fussin, brother that’s our right,
cause me and that sweet woman’s got a license to fight.
Why dont you mind your own business
(mind your own business)
Cause if you mind your own business, then you won’t be mindin’ mine.

LOL. When I was in Korea one year during Foal Eagle, any number of service members were mobilized into the ROK from all around the Pacific rim to participate in the filed and headquarters training exercises.

One day my S-3 and I were walking down the street, and this burly sailor came walking up the street with an eyepatch.

He walked by us, and my S-3 said in a real dry, dead pan voice, "Good to see that central casting is participating in this exercise."

well he was older - anyone that ahs been aroudn subs knows that the worst drinking game is “drinking your dolphin” I tended bar, at NCO club, as 6 men went through the game. Even for a hardened overseas bartender this was scary.

Command Master Chiefs on a prominent sub base in a navy town are not just regular guys out drinking. They are in a high visibility position.

My husband knew Vatter as a TM1. He wished he had more like him in his torpedo room. He laughed when he read this story. We had plenty of drunken nights at the Goat Locker on base and, as another poster stated, it was our prerogative as a married couple to do it.

The retired Senior Chief, who had his own alcohol related incidents, should have minded him own dam business.

into allegations that he drank for several hours at a club on the base

In my Navy, this was never news...certainly not news in which a CMC had to step down.
