Russia's Putin signs new treason law
Yahoo/Reuters ^

Russia introduced a new law broadening the definition of treason on Wednesday, alarming opponents who say Vladimir Putin will use it to silence his critics and that almost anyone in contact with foreigners will be at risk.

The legislation allows Russians representing international organizations to be charged with treason, as well as those working for foreign states and bodies, and expands the range of actions that can be considered treasonous.

It’s now treason in Russia to criticize Putin’s good friend Obama.

Russia is taking the same measures to protect its national interest as the US should have taken.

Coming soon to a nation near you. I’m guessing the new world order will all sign off on this? They’ll punish or kill the “lawbreakers” first in secret until the Left gets wind of it then they’ll broadcast it on TV and take bets on who will get shots first or who’ll last the longest all while eating popcorn and laughing giddily as they watch their TV screens. Morons...

Probably not once Putin starts locking-up Russians who are working for UN approved NGO's.

Well, you don’t see Sorors getting the run of that place. You don’t see Obama getting the upper hand either.

And Russia is the one reason Israel has survived the attempts on it by Iran and the US, the EU and the UN.

Oh, that's brilliant. Give Obama the powers to decide that his critics are committing treason.

I truly get amazed by the small flock of Putin butt-kissers on FR. And not amazed in a good way.

“And Russia is the one reason Israel has survived the attempts on it by Iran and the US, the EU and the UN.”

Now I’m intrigued. Can you expand on that?

Lol. If I had to choose between Putin and Obama, I’d choose Putin anyday. If I had to choose between Putin and 999 out of a thousand American pols, I’d choose Putin. I’f I had to choose between Putin and a large majority of the American electorate, I’d trust Putin.

Too bad you made such an unforgivable mess of your country.

After the Beslan school massacre, Putin said he would get all those who were involved. And he did. Everyone who escaped was killed, as were a lot of those who supported them. Good job!

Let's see: Flat tax, lower per capita debt than US, values own culture and national identity...check, check, and check. Maybe it's time to say Здравствуйте Россия.

You have no doubt observed the Russian “help” given to Iran in its enrichment project.

The “help” has served at least two purposes:

1. To control what Iran actually does by sabotaging services which Iran has no other source for.

2. To keep tabs on Iranian capabilities in the position of a “trusted observer”.

A good example of the Russian play with Israel is when Russia supplied Iran with advanced air defense systems, and at the same time sent the self-destruct codes to Israel.

It’s now treason in Russia to criticize Putin’s good friend Obama.

Reminds me of the Cold War-era joke.

An American and a Russian were arguing about which country was better...The American started out by saying....."In my country, we can criticize the American President." The Russian then retorted, "We can do the same thing in my country as well, I too can criticize the American President."

One of my favorites was the Russian worker who said “They pretend to pay us, we pretend to work.”

It is now treasonous for a Russian government worker to go to a foreign country and be critical of the Russian rulers.

Where have I seen that type of activity lately from Americans?

Jon Caray; The Hildabeeste; Obamugabe in Germany and Egypt.

Russia is taking the same measures to protect its national interest as the US should have taken.

The USSR were masters at using NGOs to penetrate and disrupt their enemy's. They did a masterful job on us. Its no suprise they understand what the real intentions of these organizations are.

Putin signed this law AFTER it passed both houses of the Russian Parliament, so this is not a unilateral action, it has a lot of support among Russians.

The law is aimed at UN and foreign NGO subversion and insurrection very similar in Russia as it is in the US.

Putin is Russian, and it would be logical to see him take actions to protect RUSSIAN interests. He has no duty to protect Americans or anybody else, but his enforcement against Russian traitors is liable to expose their American partners.

Putin supports Obama because Russia is a competitor to America, and Putin wants the weakest possible leader for the competition.

I'm re-learning RUSSIAN as fast as I can. They do not f**k around with muzzie terrorists or parasitic groups of any kind.

They experienced socialism and know it as the curse it is. We are going to find out the hard way too.

Why do you think so many marxist-hollywood producers have RUSSIAN ACCENTED villains in every movie they make?

They will never forgive the Russians for dumping Karl Marx and his dehumanizing cult of death called socialism-communism.
