Fear, mourning, celebration in Gaza City

Gaza City (CNN) -- A mix of explosions filled Gaza City's air late Thursday, but not all were blasts of war.

A celebration erupted as a mosque loudspeaker chant proclaimed: "God is great. We have hit Tel Aviv."

Rockets fired straight upward were not targeted at an enemy, but were aimed at raising spirits with claims that militant missiles launched from Gaza reached Israel's government center 45 miles (71 kilometers) away.

One Gaza-launched rocket landing just south of Tel Aviv Thursday, in an open area near Rishon LeZion, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Knowing that air sirens had sounded inside and outside the Israeli Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv apparently gave comfort to some of the Gaza residents who are facing the possibility of another full-scale war with Israel -- four years after the last one.

The sounds of Gaza also included frequent explosions signaling another Israeli airstrike hitting what the IDF called terror sites, including Hamas weapons, storage bunkers, weapons labs and workshops.

"We're seeing airstrikes, huge plumes of black smoke in many parts of the city," said Sara Sidner, CNN's correspondent reporting from Gaza City. "You hear the plane, the rumble sound, the 'kaboom,' and then airstrikes."

Fifteen people, including two children, were killed in airstrikes in Gaza Thursday, the health ministry said. Of the casualties, nine were Hamas militants, a Hamas source told CNN.

They cheered when told missiles had hit Tel Aviv.

They didn’t give a s**t who was killed in Tel Aviv.

Then when they get hit Israel is the bad guy.

Why should Israel give a s**t who gets hit in Gaza?

They keep farting around and a lot more are going to die. That’s the nature of starting a war.

If you view the video, you see that the weapon was triggered as the car entered the intersection where there was space around it.

There were no people. In short order after the explosion the place ws covered up with people. If the Gazaan people were the enemy, a second or third rocket into the crowd could have done som real human damage.

They should be thanking God for a merciful Israeli enemy

"Rockets fired straight upward were not targeted at an enemy..."

Excellent tactic, Muzzies. Fire for effect.

(Ballistics doesn't appear to be their strong suit.)
