Fomenting insurrection is not a speech issue. Do what you need to do, but do it with open eyes and don’t pretend that you have a constitutional right to it. Our founders understood that they were under a death sentence for their rebellion. The least we can do is not lie to ourselves about what we are discussing here. Here’s what the US code says about it:

“Sec. 2383. Rebellion or insurrection

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”

So, you equate those who would sign such a secession petition online (not saying I support this secession idea at all) with “fomenting insurrection”. That, my FRiend, is one hell of a stretch. Care to elaborate?
