Look I supported Mitt but he caused his own downfall by excluding those he defeated early.
The GOP must include everyone, especially the right.
Sarah Palin was a huge loss.
Romney needs to just back down, and we need to move on.
You won’t get an argument from me about that aspect of Mitt’s loss.
When it comes to 2016, the major forces in conservatism (if it still exists in any strength) need to develop a mechanism well before the primary season to unite behind one conservative candidate - hopefully that way the GOP won’t spend half the election season taking out their own.
I would’ve been happy with Romney (I dread the next four years); I would have been happier if there had been a way for Perry, Newt, Cain, and Santorum to duke it out *before* the primary season, and then have the last of them standing take on Romney (or whoever else the GOP establishment would have decided to push).
“When that happens, Barack Obama won’t have George W. Bush to kick around.”
Sorry, Florio, McGreevey and Corzine rode the “It’s Christy Whitman’s fault” for almost 10 years.
Obama will do the same thing. In 2016 the democrat nominee will do the same thing. George Bush is the Emmanuel Goldstein of our day.
