Yeah, I’m excited too. It’s not just that the season starts in a void of other major sporting events (not a basketball, hockey or baseball fan) but the Gen 6 car could be a very good thing for the sport. I love the patriotism, the flags flying, the honoring of the men and women in uniform, the fly-overs, the national anthem. I love the soap-opera aspect of who said what and which and why on which team/crew-chief-owner/spouse. I love the devotion of a fan when all that matters is their guy (my wife - JJ) or gal. When we’re able to get to a track I absolutely love the smell of burnt Sunoco fuel. I love the ear-splitting car noise and the crowds and even the guys that can’t get off the Premier Sports bus when we get to the track at 7:00am ‘cause their to drunk to walk. I look forward to questions being answered - who has the jump on the competition with the Gen 6 car? (rumored - Hendrick) What animosities will care over from last year? How will the drivers that have moved (Kenseth, Lagano) do w/their new teams? Can Jeff Gordon put together one great year one last time? Is Dale gonna be in the game? JJ? Will Kasey Kahne pull off the year that Kaz had last year or will it be someone else? How ‘bout the new track dryer? And Mark Martin has absolutely gotta win a race!
