Jail time would be refreshing
Since President Barack Obamas election, officials at the Department of Justice have downplayed complaints about ballot fraud.
Under former President George W. Bush, the department had aggressively pursued numerous cases. In 2007, for example, Ike Brown, the chairman of the Democratic Party in Noxubee County, Miss., was investigated for interfering with white voters access to the ballot box.
State investigations and convictions continue despite the DOJs current lack of interest.
In April, Lessadolla Sowers was convicted by a court in Tunica County, Miss., on 10 counts of fraudulently casting absentee ballots. Sowers was a member of the local National Associated for the Advancement of Colored Peoples executive committee.
Vote fraud should carry a minimum 2yrs in prison.
“The 12 people charged are aligned with the Democratic Party.”
Boy, I didn’t see that one coming.
This brings up a question. This ballot fraud case is from 2010. Of course the people elected through fraud have been in office all this time. If Obama is found to be in office fraudulently in 2014, does he have to give back all his salary and expenses spent over those 2 years after we kick him out? I thought not...
We are just going to have to do a better job of rooting out fraud and making a huge example of it. That means jail time for the fraudsters and revocation of their voting privileges forever. Also, large fines and all court costs should be levied.
