You’re playing a fair amount of traditional country and that made me think of Lyle Lovett for some reason, although he defies categorization other than Americana.

Here’s one with a deeply religious meaning, but that achieved popular acclaim from being featured during the closing credits of an HBO series that is pretty far removed, that series being “True Blood.”

It’s one of those songs that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck, no doubt a large part of the appeal to the producers of that series.

Cyndi Lauper: “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”

How many songs are written in six sharps? There is a wonderful scene at the end referencing the old Marx Brothers stateroom scene.

My favorite music....old traditional country.

You are right about Lyle Lovett...hard to catagorize.

Thanks, Regulator, for the video tunes for the troops. ((HUGS))

Melody Gardot: "My One and Only Thrill"

The string intro is taken from Ravel, and the piano riff that unifies the piece is from Brahms.

It's not really a music video, but you can hear just how amazing this lady is.
