Hindsight, or our ability to see our past clearly, is a learning function that, when damaged ... renders us unable to look at the past to guide ourselves through the present and into the future. Without this ability, we cannot learn from our mistakes. We cannot clean up the wreckage of our actions. We are locked into a cycle of repeating the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. ....This is commonly known as the definition of insanity.

Michael Steel helped us (with tea party support) retake the house, and we kicked him to the curb and brought in the idiot prebus.

I will predict right here and now that the GOP leadership will *not* step down. And if they are not forced out, it should be CRYSTAL clear to everyone here why there needs to be a new party.

“unless it’s a staunch Conservative in the likeness of Reagan or better”

The problem is not that we don’t have anybody that is as conservative as Reagan - we do. What we DON’T have is a conservative that can COMMUNICATE one tenth as well as Reagan.

I remember many times, some liberal reporter would shove a camera in Reagan’s face and ask him a leading question just to try and make him look bad. The genius of Reagan was the way he could just cock his head slightly, give a slight smile, and then proceed to answer the question in simple, folksy terms that even the dumbest sheeple could understand. And with that answer, thousands of new Reagan voters would be born.

There simply are not enough existing conservatives to get a president elected. We have to have someone that can explain things simply enough that we can garner the other 5 - 10 million votes that we need. And unfortunately, unless he has been kept well hid, I don’t see the second coming of Reagan anywhere on the horizon.

“Vindicating the Peter Principle.”

Yeah, just another limp dick in an unending line of limp dicks who have made it to be Chairman of the RNC. Just incredible!

COIN operations involve a very in depth understanding of cultural idocyncracies and how best to exploit them to our advantage.

Idiosyncracies aside, nothing trumps free $hit. Human nature rules.

Your ideas are logical. Cleaning the Republican house from the top down and recruiting Schumaker and Rubio types to institute a counterinsurgency while developing tactics to outmaneuver the Marxist Media would be effective in a moral society. But we are no longer living in a moral society, and short of compromising core principals I doubt it's possible to compete with the demonic democrats, since the election has clearly demonstrated that the majority of the voting population in 2012 is not motivated by Judeo-Christian morality. The party that embraces abortion, boos God, and attacks the Church is now able to attract over half of the voters in this country. These people want redistribution, abortion and a cradle to grave government nanny. The Founders' ideals are too much of a strain for these people to understand, never mind embrace. They live in the here and now, and they want free stuff.

BINGO!

Someone understands the plain truth of the situation and the entire reason we are in this mess to begin with.

Liberty can only exist in the hands of a moral and religious people beholden to biblical principles. Because that is where liberty as we understand it, came from.

A lukewarm church surrendered the fight for this culture long ago. Now that secular hedonists control it, the rest of society is following and it will choose the basest and most depraved of human nature’s own appetites, and redefine morality to fit within it’s own desires, rather than those principles that hold human nature within a moral boundary.

As you put it - responsibility is too much work and people want their free $hit and other people to pay for it.

Consequences are just beginning to be reaped.

We ‘aint seen nothing yet.

Hey, how else can they prove that this last debacle wasn't just a fluke?

in some earlier posts i explained the idea of decapitating the GOP ourselves by offering nothing more than a NEW RNC ~ as an option for the state parties ~ all of whom are incorporated in their own states one way or the other.

With the collapse of the WHIG party and the failure of the Abolitionist movement to actually become a party, someone invented the Republican Party in the guise of what became the RNC. Once that single element was established they invited state groups to send representatives ~ and some of those state groups had formerly been affiliated with the Whigs and some with Abolitionists ~ some shuffling was needed at the grassroots in some of the states since they had plenty of both! But the big thing was to first create a national entity which was then handed over to the states as a brand name as well as a vehicle for organizing for running a President.

What we just saw with the Romney campaign was multistage. First, he captured the RNC with his agents, Preibus chief among them ~ although this Gillespie guy certainly turned himself into a lackey quite quickly.

Secondly he targeted a few states for what can only be described as CORRUPT PRACTICES. He found willing confederates there ~ chief among them Virginia. The idea here was to position himself for the Fall election with a cadre of his own choosing ~ assuming they'd be more responsive to his campaign team than outsiders actually drawn from the state party structure.

Third, he shut down even Conservative campaigns that got too loud for him. That was made possible through the simple expedient of making sure all the major donors ran everything through the RNC committees first ~ the only superpacs on the job were those devoted to him.

The upshot of that tightly controlled top down campaign was to LOSE ~ even in the Senatorial races!

Actually, that approach will always lose. You really need a ground game with willing participants going door to door with brochures talking to people to make sure all Republicans have been informed that (1) there's an election coming up, (2) we have candidates you would like, (3) and if you're not registered here's how ~ then follow upon those folks.

The slightest sense that the national outreach is not concerned with them will encourage the door to door guys to stay home.

We need a NEW RNC to send representatives to who will make sure the rules ensure active participation by all county, district and state committees ~

I"m sure the old RNC has enough lawyers in its stable to arrange a suitable stand down and dissolution as they GIT OUT THE WAY!!!

Definitely ~ as I've said even if all Mike did (in the perception of others) was stand on his thumbs that may have been the right thing to do in that election ~ and we won.

In politics winning is the only thing, and if you don't win you are a loser!

Preibus is a loser. He goes or the RNC loses the party!
